Costumes
Halloween is a great time for make believe. Costumes help as does the makeup. Here are some terrifying makeup tips for Halloween.
  1. Plan ahead. Plan your costume and its accompanying makeup weeks before Halloween and not on the day itself.

  2. Put your costume on before putting on the makeup. Place a towel around your neck while you are applying the makeup in case it spills, drips or splatters.

  3. Get your hair out of the way. This will give you a clear view of your face, prevent you hair from messing up your makeup and keep your makeup out of your hair.

  4. Be creative!

  5. When trying to look OLD, cover your skin slightly with baby powder or white blemish cover stick. Then draw dark lines and slightly blend them into the surrounding area with your finger. Then add baby powder to give skin that old, dry look. Also use the baby powder on your hair to get that gray look.

  6. For the the VAMPIRE look, first cover your face in white powder makeup or blemish cover stick for that pale, bloodless look. Outline sharp eyebrows and then fill in with black makeup. Outline the eyes and draw a line up about an inch from the outside edge of the eye for evil eyes. Draw lines on the face with reddish-brown makeup and blur the edges a bit for blood-filled veins. Drip fake blood from the edges of the mouth. Slick hair with pomade and comb hair into a point in the middle of the forehead. Use fake teeth to complete your VAMPIRE look.

  7. For those who want to be WITCHES, cover your face in green or white powder makeup or white blemish cover stick. With a black makeup stick, draw lines in a "V" in the middle of the forehead and create some lines around the mouth for that mean look. Draw lines on the hands with an eyeliner pen; almost follow your own veinst o make the hands look old. Attach some false nails if you want. The longer the better but make sure you don't use them on anyone. You might hurt them or the nails could fall off. Tease your hair in all directions and spray with hairspray. stick on a few plastic bugs or spiderwebs.

  8. For scars and sores, combine pink or green face tissue with corn syrup and stick them where you want.

  9. For facial hair, use hair from an old stuffed toy or hairbrush and attach with double stick tape or fake eyelash adhesive.

  10. For blood, combine red food coloring and corn syrup. After dripping the blood where you want it to be don't let the edges of the blood smear. Give the fake blood plenty time to dry and be sure not to wipe your face later in the evening!

  11. For blood and gore, use red food coloring, corn syrup amd chunky peanut butter. Do not eat it off!

HAVE FUN!
