I like nothing better than the scent of grass wet from rain, the feel of it between my toes, cold and wet. The smell of fresh sea breeze and the sound of rustling leaves-doesn't that beat the din of the air conditioner? Who says you have to go out of town to experience these rare pleasures?
Everyone needs a respite from the hustle and bustle of the city. That's why we are presenting here a list of the nearest urban recreation parks we have in Manila. Ask your mom and dad to join you in this new family bonding getaway! Experience fresh air, lush greenery and endless view of the sky. Go cloud or bird watching and wait for the sunset or the sunrise, even. Pack a few lunch essentials and just lie in the grass, have a picnic or have a reading fest under the shade of a tree. You can also learn new outdoor activities together like kite-flying, biking, skateboarding, volleyball, badminton or even photography!
Here are some eco-friendly destinations:
1. Luneta/Rizal Park

Enjoy the haven these places have to offer, tree-lined streets are now a rarity but you can enjoy these parks while you can. Just remember to clean up and don't pull the weeds or walk on the grass where there are signs saying so, okay?
See you around! I'll be the one walking barefoot on the grass! Have fun!
